The other side of the table

Most options courses teach you how to buy and sell options. I teach you how the chap selling them to you thinks.

From 1998 I made prices in single-stock options on Eurex, and later ran the books for warrants and structured products. If you have to put a price on volatility every single day, you see the market differently from someone who merely pays it. That is the view I pass on.

The training builds in three steps.

Macro. How financial markets and options markets interact, and how to read the state of play: the macro playbook and the yield curve.

Quant. Reading volatility as price information; developing, testing and executing trade ideas.

Options. The Greeks, delta hedging and gamma scalping from the market maker’s seat. Executing strategies that are “probably profitable”, protecting wealth and building it.

Three days are not enough. So it carries on.

The training starts with three days in person and then runs live every week for several months, until everything has been covered.

Since 2018 I have been explaining options and volatility with The Tactical Brief, in research and on YouTube. Since 2022 there have been seminars as well; earlier cohorts are listed under Past Seminars →

In person. Three days on site, currently at the Lufthansa Seminarhotel Seeheim, with 20 participants at most. This is where the foundations go in: reading the market, reading volatility, options and Greeks from the market maker’s seat.

Weekly, live. After that we meet online every week. Topics include trade selection and strategies, portfolio and sizing, fundamentals, market technicals and backtesting. Add to that the Virtual Trading Floor, where we work through the current markets together.

All materials and tools are included, and the Virtual Trading Floor stays open until the end of the training. Teaching is in German.

Three days make nobody a trader. The weeks after do.

Who it is for (and who it is not)

The training is aimed at active investors, speculators and traders who know their way around financial markets and are after a serious, thorough education.

You need basic market experience, not a maths degree. A good way to prepare is my options & volatility basics course on YouTube: eight parts, roughly four hours. If you are comfortable with that, you will move faster. Bring your own laptop with Excel and, if possible, access to an AI assistant.

If you are looking for the one trick that reliably collects premium every month, this is the wrong place. It does not exist. I sat on the other side long enough to know who ends up paying for it.

Who teaches

I teach every session myself, on site and in every live session, supported by the Tactical Brief team. More than 30 years in markets, teaching the same institutional approach that trained graduate traders in the financial industry for years.

More about me →

Who pays me

You. And nobody else.

No commissions, no paid tie-ups with issuers or brokers, no products I sell you. You pay for the education, not for the recommendation. When I tell you a strategy costs more than it looks, nobody earns a penny if you do it anyway.
